This piece allows the for the quick detatchment of a switch mount. It is joined to any STEM SYSTEM component with internal threads by its external threads located on both halves of the Quick Release. When in place 3 ball bearings from the body of the Quick Release lock into 3 holes in the socket of the Quick Release. The bearings are locked in place by the clockwise turning of the black rubber sleeve that exerts a downward force on the balls which become locked in the holes because of this force. Three clockwise turns loosen the balls enough to allow the switch mount to be rotated 120 degrees away from the chair. Or twisted enough to free the balls from the holes and lightly pulled on to seperate the switch mount from its mounting hardware. Re-installation is the reverse of this and will return the the switch mount to its original position. Extra sockets can be purchased for the use of the same switch mount on more than one wheelchair.
